Spring Teen Production

Join us this spring for Heathers The Musical : Teen Edition! The Red Phoenix Theatre Company is thrilled to announce registration is now live for our Spring 2025 productions! This show is part of our educational programming and is intended for ages 13 - 18. Everyone that registers for this production will be cast in the show.

During this production intensive, students will be actively engaged in learning character development, acting techniques, dance techniques, and will receive vocal instruction.

Heathers The Musical: Teen Edition is the darkly delicious story of Veronica Sawyer, a brainy, beautiful teenage misfit who hustles her way into the most powerful and ruthless clique at Westerberg High: the Heathers. But before she can get comfortable atop the high school food chain, Veronica falls in love with the dangerously handsome new kid J.D. When Heather Chandler, the Almighty, kicks her out of the group, Veronica decides to bite the bullet and kiss Heather’s aerobicized butt... but J.D. has another plan for that bullet. This adaptation has been edited to be appropriate for teen performers. Parents are encouraged to review the script, as desired.

General auditions will be completed by video submission. These will be due January 5 by 7pm. We encourage everyone to get their auditions in as quickly as possible, as they will be reviewed as they are submitted. Audition videos should be 60 seconds or less. Your audition should be a verse and a chorus of a song in similar style to this title. Your audition’s accompaniment track should be instrumental only. Please slate with your name, age, and height at the beginning of your video.

Callbacks will be in person on January 10 from 5 - 10. Details for these will be emailed following general auditions.

Rehearsals Dates: This production will rehearse from January - May. It is important that you review the tentative production calendar prior to signing up. While minor conflicts can be accommodated on a case by case basis, we need these to be as limited as possible for the production.

Performances will take place May 8 - 11 at Red Phoenix Performing Arts Studio.

Tuition: Tuition for this production is $525 plus a $25 registration fee. Tuition is broken into 4 payments. A $131.25 payment is due at the time of registration, and the remaining payments will debit $131.25 automatically the first of each month January - March. Everyone that registers for this production will be cast in the show. Tuition is non-refundable.
