Community Theatre Audition Information

The Red Phoenix Theatre Company is thrilled to announce auditions for our Spring 2025 COMMUNITY THEATRE Production of Big Fish. We are seeking talent ages 18+, for this production.

*We are looking to cast a young boy around age 10 for the role of Young Will. All other roles need to be 18+

Based on the celebrated novel by Daniel Wallace and the acclaimed film directed by Tim Burton, BIG FISH tells the story of Edward Bloom, a traveling salesman who lives life to its fullest…and then some! Edward’s incredible, larger-than-life stories thrill everyone around him—most of all, his devoted wife Sandra. But their son Will, about to have a child of his own, is determined to find the truth behind his father’s epic tales. Overflowing with heart and humor, BIG FISH is an extraordinary musical that reminds us why we love going to the theatre—for an experience that’s richer, funnier and bigger than life itself.

General auditions will be completed by video submission and due Friday, January 3 by 7pm. Auditioners should prepare a verse and a chorus of a song that is no longer than 60 seconds.

We encourage everyone to get their auditions in as quickly as possible, as they will be reviewed as they are submitted. Audition videos should be 60 seconds or less. Your audition should be a verse and a chorus of a song in similar style to this title. Your audition’s accompaniment track should be instrumental only. Please slate with your name, age, and height at the beginning of your video.

Submissions Instructions:

Please upload your audition video as an unlisted youtube video link.
The youtube link should be titled “FirstName_LastName_Showtitle”
Submit your unlisted youtube video link to contact@redphoenix.org. Please have the subject line as “FirstName_LastName_Showtitle”.

Callbacks will be in person on January 5 from 1 - 5pm. Details for these will be emailed following general auditions.

LOCATION for auditions, callbacks, rehearsals, and performances will be at The Red Phoenix Performing Arts Studio at 8560 Holcomb Bridge Road, Alpharetta, GA 30022, Suite 110.

Rehearsals will run January - March. Please see the calendar button below for the tentative schedule.

Performances will take place March 21 - 30 at Red Phoenix Performing Arts Studio.
