Grease Auditions — Red Phoenix

Summer Teen Production

Grease is the word this July! The Red Phoenix Theatre Company is thrilled to announce registration is now live for our Summer 2025 production of the iconic musical, Grease! This show is part of our educational programming and is intended for ages 13 - 22. Everyone that registers for this production will be cast in the show.

During this production intensive, students will be actively engaged in learning character development, acting techniques, dance techniques, and will receive vocal instruction.

Here is Rydell High’s senior class of 1959: duck-tailed, hot-rodding “Burger Palace Boys’ and their gum-snapping, hip-shaking “Pink Ladies” in bobby sox and pedal pushers, evoking the look and sound of the 1950s in this rollicking musical. Head “greaser” Danny Zuko and new (good) girl Sandy Dumbrowski try to relive the high romance of their “Summer Nights” as the rest of the gang sings and dances its way through such songs as “Greased Lightnin’,” “It’s Raining on Prom Night” and “Alone at the Drive-In Movie,” recalling the music of Buddy Holly, Little Richard and Elvis Presley that became the soundtrack of a generation. An eight-year run on Broadway and two subsequent revivals, along with innumerable school and community productions, place Grease among the world’s most popular musicals.

General auditions will be completed by video submission. These will be due Monday, April 7 by 7pm. We encourage everyone to get their auditions in as quickly as possible, as they will be reviewed as they are submitted.

Audition videos should be 60 seconds or less. Your audition should be a verse and a chorus of a song in similar style to this title. Your audition’s accompaniment track should be instrumental only. Please slate with your name, age, and height at the beginning of your video.

Submissions Instructions:

Callback information will be provided soon. Details will be emailed out to auditioners once registered. In order to be considered for callbacks and the production, you must complete the registration form below, register for the class, and pay the first tuition installment. Once you have completed the audition form, instructions will populate to register and pay for the class.

Production Dates: This production will take place July 7 - 20. It is important that you review the tentative production calendar prior to signing up. While minor conflicts can be accommodated on a case by case basis, we need these to be as limited as possible for the production.

Performances will take place July 18 - 20 at Red Phoenix Performing Arts Studio.

Tuition: Tuition for this production is $650. Tuition is broken into 4 payments. A $162.50 payment is due at the time of registration, and the remaining 3 payments will debit $162.50 automatically the first of the month April - June.

Should a student register after March, additional payment(s) will be drafted at the time of registration to catch up to the tuition schedule. Everyone that registers for this production will be cast in the show. Space is limited. Tuition is non-refundable.
