Summer Production Intensive Information

Join us this Summer for Les Miserable School Edition! The Red Phoenix Theatre Company is thrilled to announce registration is now live for our summer 2 week Musical Theatre Intensive of Les Mis! This show is part of our educational programming and is intended for ages 10 - 18. Everyone that registers for this Summer Intensive Production camp will be cast in the show.

During this production intensive, students will be actively engaged in learning character development, acting choices, dance techniques, and will receive vocal instruction.

Winner of over 100 international awards and seen by over 70 million, this musical phenomenon is an epic tale of passion and redemption in the throes of revolution.

Les Misérables is the world’s longest running musical — a true modern classic based on Victor Hugo's novel and featuring one of the most memorable scores of all time. The multi-award-winning Les Misérables is as groundbreaking today as it was when it first premiered in London in 1985.

In nineteenth century France, Jean Valjean is released from years of unjust imprisonment, but finds nothing in store for him but mistrust and mistreatment. He breaks his parole in hopes of starting a new life, initiating a lifelong struggle for redemption as he is relentlessly pursued by police inspector Javert, who refuses to believe Valjean can change his ways. Finally, during the Paris student uprising of 1832, Javert must confront his ideals after Valjean spares his life and saves that of the student revolutionary who has captured the heart of Valjean's adopted daughter.

General auditions will be held by Video Submission Only. Once you are registered for the production intensive, you will be sent information on how to submit your video audition. All videos will be due APRIL 22nd by 7pm. Callback submission information will be communicated once the callback list is posted. We will be reviewing submissions as they come in, so auditioners are encouraged to get their videos in as soon as possible. Please see the AUDITION DAY SPECIFICS page for submission details.

Rehearsals will run JULY 8 - 19. Please see the calendar button below for the tentative schedule.

Performances will take place JULY 19 - 21 at Red Phoenix Performing Arts Studio.

Tuition: Tuition for this production is $500. Tuition is broken into 4 payments. A $125 payment is due at the time of registration, and the remaining 3 payments will debit $125 automatically per the schedule on the production calendar. Everyone that registers for this production will be cast in the show.
