Summer 2024 Production Camp Information

Join us this summer at Red Phoenix Theatre Company for our 2 week Musical Theatre Production Camp - BEAUTY AND THE BEAST Jr.! This show is part of our educational programming and is intended for ages 8 - 18. This 2 week production camp includes performances in June. THIS TITLE IS GOING BACK IN THE DISNEY VAULT SOON! JOIN OUR PRODUCTION AND BE A PART OF THIS CLASSIC TALE AS OLD AS TIME, WHILE YOU STILL CAN.

During this production camp, students will be actively engaged in learning character development, acting skills, dance techniques, and will receive vocal instruction.

Based on the original Broadway production that ran for over thirteen years and was nominated for nine Tony Awards, and the Academy Award-winning motion picture, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast JR. is a fantastic adaptation of the story of transformation and tolerance.  Disney’s Beauty and the Beast JR. features some of the most popular songs ever written by Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman, along with new songs by Mr. Menken and Tim Rice.

The classic story tells of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.

This “tale as old as time” has lots of spectacular moments and opportunities for students!

General auditions will be done by Video Submission Only. Once you are registered for the production camp, you will be sent information on how to submit your video audition. All videos will be due APRIL 22nd by 7pm. Callback submission information will be communicated once the callback list is posted. We will be reviewing submissions as they come in, so auditioners are encouraged to get their videos in as soon as possible. Please see the AUDITION DAY SPECIFICS page for submission details.

Rehearsals/Camp Dates: This 2 week camp will be held JUNE 3 - JUNE 14. Please see the calendar button below for the tentative schedule.

Performances will take place JUNE 14 - 16 at Red Phoenix Performing Arts Studio.

Tuition: Tuition for this production camp is $500. Tuition is broken into 4 payments. A $125 payment is due at the time of registration, and the remaining payments will debit $125 automatically per the production calendar. Everyone that registers for this production will be cast in the show.
